28 December 2008 LoCo Caching with GG
I don't think I've ever cached in Lorain County during pleasant weather. Today was no exception. The blue skies were amazing, but the wind was howling. Ali and I were surprised when we made a stop at the Boulevard of Broken Dreams. It seems that the old, unbuilt housing development has been taken over by Lorain County Metroparks. The sidewalks are gone as is most of the scrubby undergrowth. They've added paved trails and maps. This means most of the geocaches will be tossed out, but the park is really looking pleasant. It was a cold day, but any day out caching is fun. A quiet hot chocolate stop was the perfect end.

24 December 2008 Ice and Rain
We stopped to visit Geauga's latest gem this afternoon. It has been a few years since we enjoyed a walk through these woods. These woods used to be mainly chestnut until the blight took hold in the area. When the remaining chestnuts were timbered out, 300,000 board feet were taken. The woods must have been grand.

13 December 2008 Later Sunsets and 10,000 Steps
I try not to wish for the days to pass, but this year I have really hated the days with the shortest sunset. It isn't a great victory, but here's to those later sunsets. We had a fun time out with the dogs. It can't be told from the unamused look on Gwen's face as we had some fun with a lei we found in a cache, but I think the dogs were happy to be out too. We grabbed our normal handful of caches today and a healthy dose of blue sky. I also got a rare for this time of year 10,000 step day. Ahhh... soon sunset will be at 5:15 :-)
