21 June 2021 First Day of Summer

I was slowly beginning business travel again.  This trip was going to be to the Fort Wayne area.  I detoured away from the highway to see if the Apache Dairy Bar was still in business.  Once there it was time for my mask to order an ice cream cone at the counter.

16 June 2021 Geocaching Events in a Pandemic

Ali was out of town so I decided to visit a geocaching event at a nearby park.  It was outdoors so relatively safe.  It was a strange event with about a half dozen attendees sharing four picnic tables and chatting.  It was a mild summer evening with a large kids play area on the other side of the picnic tables.  The play area was empty for the evening.  Pandemic life is depressing.

13 June 2021Returning to Stan Hywett Gardens

They had a talented gethering of musicians to welcome us back to Stan Hywett 😉.  That isn't quite true, but we enjoyed a short visit to enjoy the performance when we arrived.

We were here for a few geocaches while enjoying the gardens.  The first geocache was near the gate house.  We've never been inside.  It was open today and we were confident enough with  the state of COVID to go inside.

The porcelain enamel coated New Process stove was the hit of the tour.

A pandemic hasn't removed our ability to act like kids.  A frame of lawn bowling was a given.

It was wonderful to be out and among people.  We stayed to the outdoors and wore masks when we entered a building.  It was a brief moment of happiness in a world of death and sorrow.

12 June 2021 Nearly Summer

We spotted a large garter snake at the edge of the lawn while in the yard.  We usually have a resident in our mulcher.

Lizzie has never been welcoming to images.  This may be as close as she has been to posing with her head poking out of a buckeye bush.
