20 July 2024 Wildlife at West Woods
It was a perfect warm summer evening to visit West Woods. There were at least eight ducks in this surprise sighting.
Frogs were plentiful on the water.
We topped the walk a great sighting of this cedar waxwing.

20 April 2024 Spring Wildflowers at The Rookery
The old interurban bridge which prvided crossings to visitors of this then very rural park still stands tall.
The stream was at flood stage.
Trout lilies rounded out our journey.

30 March 2024 Rookery Eagles Day 2
I didn't expect the pair of eagles to still be on the water's edge at The Rookery, but I wouldn't pass a chance at a second view of these majestic birds.
Sightings like this can be once in a lifetime.

21 January 2024 Deceptive Sun
January is that time of the year where a bright sun fools one into believing the world is warmer. The sunshine helps with the mental fatigue of winter, but rarely persuades us to believe spring is near. These were taken at Geauga Park's Sunnybrook Preserve.

19 January 2024 A Cold Morning at the Park
The snow made for a cold, solitary walk at a nearby park.
The small pond was frozen over with snow covering the ice on the pond.
The birds were floofed out.

30 December 2023 Visiting Welton Gorge
Welton Gorge is one of Geauga Park District's newest parks to open for visitors. The trail winds along the top of the gorge and gives beautiful views of the water flowing through the formation.

9 December 2023 A Grey Afternoon at Sunnybrook
December is a gloomy month. The sun struggles to greet the day while the cold chills me to the bone even in these days of climate change. Walking in a park gives solice on these days and consumes a tiny bit of time remaining until spring arrives.

21 October 2023 Fall on a Preserved Wetlands
We started our walks at Burton Wetlands.
I was able to spot a pair of great blue herons in the sea of color.
A bench welcomes vistors on the trail through the woods.
Overcast fall sky couldn't dampen our adventure and we made a second stop to see the beauty at the Blue Heron Rookery.
