9 September 2008 Pyrocachers







I have (finally) been successful at recruiting a few co-workers into caching. We have started our own caching group, Pyrocachers. One of my staff was in town for a few days and wanted to find a few during the evening. We were joined by a third Pyrocacher from the Solon office. She and her family have been caching for a few years, but haven't been out much while their son was very young. It was fun to be out. We visited a park in Orange since I new the caches there were nice ones with containers and the trail was paved. The littlest member of xsflrs had a great time. I kept him in trading swag and he got to make his best choice at each cache.

At one end of the park we got to see a couple trying to fly their rc plane. They had it in the air a few times briefly. We stopped and talked for a few minutes. This evening was their first time flying. They too looked like they were having fun.

It was day two of a couple fun evenings out with our friend. We decided to stop at Bedford Gorge for the evening. There is a nice waterfalls in the gorge, an engineering marvel viaduct, a lot of history, and oh.. yeah... caches :-). I was really ready to tackle the viaduct, but the water was too high. Oh well, some day. The cache on the other side of the gorge was outstanding. I really wanted to get a photo of the tunnel from the other side and climbed down to stream level after we found the cache. I also realized that one of the local youth had decided she wanted to be topless among her friends in the water so I decided to pass on photos.

10 June 2008 Caching with Denver Chicken Farmer





My friend from our Columbia City operation was in town for a couple of days. Ali drove to Solon and joined us after work for an evening of caching in Twinsburg. The Re-Loaded Goat remains one of our favorite caches and still a tough find. We our fun caching evening included a trip to this cache so Mike could enjoy the hunt.
