It was the end of a too short holiday weekend. We did chores around the house before stopping at Anders Run to look for orchids in bloom. We stopped along the way to see if we were lucky enough for the clintonia blossoms to open. We were still too early.
We enjoyed spotting rue, the last of the mayflowers, and some wild geraniums. We also spotted very early squaw root along the trail.
There were many lady's slipper blossoms although many were past their peak. We still enjoyed the ones we were able to find.
