2 April 2022 Katz Nature Preserve

We've been to many places to see nature. We've visited some of them countless times. Despite that, there's always a bit of excitement with the chance to visit somewhere new. Katz Nature Preserve bordering the shore of Cussawago Creek was a new visit for us.

The property has a number of vernal pools. We enjoyed exploring the edge of a couple and were rewarded with a number of egg masses.

We found this super place through geocaches that had been placed here. We grabbed a few together than reached the last one which was on the other side of serious mud. We are being cautious with Phin as he is getting older and has piled up some injuries. I stayed with Phin while Ali and Liz took the mud journey. After the journey Liz was clearly happy with the trip in the mud.
