Our main stop today was a visit to the Ocmulgee Mounds. We were still near the visitor center when we spotted a mockingbird for the first sighting of the day.
Our walk included a visit to an earth lodge we could enter. The lodge reconstruction was a CCC project in the 1930'a and made a greater experience for life of the Muscogee Tribe before the tribe was forced west after 1830.
Our journey included the boardwalk trail and an opportunity for good wildlife viewing.
