8 August 2020 Chapman State Park

It was great to visit Chapman and once again see a full body of water.  The state has been replacing the dam for a few years.  This area is often home to eagles and other interesting birds.

We planned on spending the afternoon on less traveled trails.  Chapman can get busy, but COVID seemed to have slowed the number of visitors making social distancing easy.

Usually monarda is gone by now, but we spotted a small stand alongside a park road.

We always seem to have one dog who is afraid of suspension bridges.  Lizzie was very confident on her crossing today.

We were very near home when about turkeys crossed the road.  They were headed to the Allegheny National Forest.  We often have a couple nests on the property so maybe these young poults were hatched on our property.  We were in the vehicle so my image was not great.
