Old cemeteries have a different character than newer ones. The hand worked markers of the past have been replaced by flat stones designed for a tractor to pass over during moving or machine-carved upright stones with images of someone's favorite old muscle car. Often in these old cemeteries, there are old plants left by loved ones in memory of someone they've lost. These lilacs must have been someone's favorites.
