13 January 2024 Scenes From Rocky River
This was once an area I visited often. The area once was a somewhat hot spot for steelhead fishing. On a cold January visit it was nearly deserted.
This preserved 1880's structure was a water tower for the nearby estate of John Huntington. The current huge wealth builders are a bit of a modern day rendition of the huge financial owners of the past. We all pass on someday.
Another old piece of northern Ohio transportation history stands in the ruins of the old trestles that carried interurban coaches on a rail path that extended to Toledo in the west.
For Northeast Ohio it was a mild and pleasant January walk through a bit if history.
