15 March 2018 Waiting for the Red Eye
I fly home on a red eye as often as possible when travelling home from Spokane. I was lucky to once again have an overnight flight back to Detroit before heading home to the Cleveland area. I just needed to take some time away from the wait. A visit to the Medical Lake area for a cache and some birding was my plan. I found a cache and decided to spend the balance of daylight birding. My first sighting was a great blue heron. By the time I parked the best I could get was a shot of it heading away from me. I was luckier with waterfowl.
Common Goldeneye
Gadwalls
Mallards
It was time to drive to the airport.
It was my lucky night! A less than full flight gave me two blankets for the flight east.
