11 August 2018 Around Kinzua

We stayed local for this sunny summer day. It had been a long time since we were in town (and remembered) the Warren Farmers' Market. We stopped to walk and purchase some local products.

Local musicians provide pleasant music for the visit.

After visiting the market, we stopped to see why main street was closed.

There was a sidewalk chalk battle with many kids participating plus a few very intense local adult teams. I liked the simpler, happier efforts of the kids.

When we returned to the parking lot for the market, I spotted an old Studebaker pick-up in the parking lot. Once I started taking images, the super-friendly owner stopped by and spent a good time talking old cars and trucks.

Old engines were much simpler and so much less reliable. That's an interesting color for the valve cover.

When we were done talking trucks, we headed home to get the dogs for a trip to the Marilla area. We stopped at Marilla Springs first for a hike back to a lightly found geocache.

Near the spring and headwaters

Our timing was always off for finding oxalis in bloom this summer.

We headed off to the trails leading away from the reservoir searching for a couple more lightly visited caches. It was a hot day so we were loaded down with lots of water for the dogs (and ourselves).

It was a good day for butterfly sightings.

We finished our day with a shady walk along an old rail line.
