4 October 2009 SGL-143

We stopped on our way home to hunt some caches in a gamelands near the house. On the way out the spider dropped from a tree. It doesn't compare with tarantulas in California, but it was very large for Pennsylvania (about the size of a golden dollar). The lobelias were past their prime, but the deepest blue we had seen this year. It is nice that Gwen can overcome her fear of open bridges. There is a big open grate bridge in this gamelands. She really balked the last time we walked here a few months prior, but was quite brave today.
