8 November 2009 Caching Around Warren

Have you ever searched for an obscure town on the web and found all these commercial links for a town that doesn't really exist anymore? I guess it's all in a days work in the desperate world of making money from the internet while not really doing anything. Try it with Putnamville PA. This is it. There's a marker for a long gone post office and this nice old one-room schoolhouse. There's also a small cemetery down a nearby dirt road. It's a nice, old historical site, but a google search will try to send you to a hometown locator, the "wedding florist", and even "banking in Putnamville". I'm not certain there was ever a bank at these crossroads, but I'm pretty certain the floral industry didn't exist when this town disappeared.
