Adjusting to a pandemic was taking effort. Thankfully spring provides opportunities at the end of the work day to spend time outdoors with Ali and the dogs while being socially distanced from others. Burton Wetlands isn't a frequent spot for us to visit. It's not a quick drive. It does offer birding opportunities at a Kettle Lake plus trails through woods and open fields. There was a planned park district event to view an eagle's nest on the property, but that was cancelled with other activities. We hoped to maybe spot activity at the osprey nesting area or maybe get really lucky with an eagle sighting. Neither worked out, but we enjoyed waterfowl sightings and a bluebird in the field.
Taking flight...
Phineas loves the trail. This is a rare moment of him relaxing while out.
