5 September 2020 Shinglehouse

Because of the driving distance we don't visit Shinglehouse often.  For the holiday weekend we decided to make the longer drive to enjoy a gamelands.  As usual, we were the only visitors today so we spent a mask-free afternoon enjoying the trail.

Mondarda has hung on later this year than any in memory.  It was near the first geocache in a wet area with turtlehead.

Lizzie is a beuatiful aussie, but rarely makes it into images as she is very camera shy. For some reason today she was more the content with the camera being pointed at her.

Today we spent time in woods, in fields, and along a gameland road.  This was the largest field and still hosted blooming goldenrod for the busy bees.

These were nice dolls eyes left on a spring blooming white baneberry plant.

We were both tired from the hike and ready to make the long drive home.  On the way out of the gamelands we decided to make a couple short stops to look for caches not far into trails.  Our efforts were rewarded with dozens of blooming gentian at one of the stops.
