It was a very mild day and perfect for a walk on the Buckeye Trail in Cleveland Metropark's Brecksville Reservation. This is a familiar walk for us and one of the best stretches of Buckeye Trail.
Ali uses a "tool" to release a high-hanging cache container.
Lizzie seems to be getting less shy about being in an image.
We were a little early for the spring peepers at the wet area. Maybe a wood duck or two will find this a good stopping point.
Rather than walk back on the Buckeye Trail, we crossed over to an older trail that wound back to a old parking area and followed an old closed road back to near our Subaru. We had almost reached the old parking area when we spotted a pair of red-headed woodpeckers. The certainly appeared to be planning on nesting at the top of a snag. We don't often see these so it was quite a treat.
