4 May 2012 Greater Yellowlegs
We stopped for a short walk at Orchard Hills Park. Every time we visit, Geauga Parks has done more work here. I'm not sure the changes are positive, but each one removes a little more of this park's interesting history. Some of the old apple orchards remain and were in bloom this evening. The park's history as a golf course is quickly being blurred.
We were both surprised to a non-familiar bird. It was the first time we have seen a Greater Yellowlegs. They are not residents of northeastern Ohio so this one must have stopped for the evening at the small pond in the park.
