Lizzie cooling her toes in our stream
We were too late for bloodroot blossoms and most remaining spring wildflowers are still a few weeks away, but just being 'home' was amazing.
We stopped for the final of a puzzle cache in a cemetery on the way home. The cemetery had impressive old zinc markers and the strangest marble marker held with clawed feet.
A close up of those feet. They look like reproductions from a werewolf.
On our return home we stopped near a small lake and gamelands area near Conneaut Lake. We were hoping to spot an eagle or maybe even spot a nest area in the distant trees. We were also hoping for a few ducks stopping off on their way through. What we weren't expecting was a pair of mallards giving a hard chase after a vulture. Vultures will raid goose and duck nests for the eggs so we expect this aerial dogfight was a protection maneuver by the ducks to protect a nest.
