We walked out for another visit to Geneva Swamp boat launch hoping for a better view of sandhill cranes. The cranes weren't there and the water was cleared of ducks, but there was an eagle in a tree. We both agreed it looked like the same eagle perched in the same tree as on other visits. Maybe this was some program eagle paid to spend time perched on that branch. 😊
Most of the water was still frozen over although that was quickly changing. The ice could be heard cracking and being uplifted as the ice melted.
We stopped for a look at the roadside area near the second boat launch. We had seen ducks and an eagle here before. I took an image of the area while we were there and had no idea of the number of birds actually in the trees along the far water's edge. There are about four dozen birds in the trees below.
