21 March 2021 An Afternoon in Lake Metroparks

Girdled Road Park is my favorite Lake Metropark.  It has long challenging trails, wildflowers, water.  Today it also had a couple geocaches we had not found.  Our birding started well with a downy woodpecker and a song sparrow.

We were headed to the trail leading to the suspension bridge when I spotted this unusual rock at the edge of the old field.

We finished at Girdled Road and made a last stop at the Environmental Learning Center.  Our brief walk included a red-belly woodpecker and a view of the small waterfall.
