1 September 2008 Twin Lakes and Dahoga

We spent the day caching with Liz and Wes. We started with a couple caches in Kane and found pink turtlehead in Evergreen Park. I don't remember ever seeing pink blossoms on turtlehead. Most of our day was spent in the Twin Lakes area and near the old ghost town of Dahoga. Twin Lakes was the site of a McKean Chemical Company plant and Dahoga was the old company town. Today, Twin Lakes is an ANF recreation area with little signs of its past visible and Dahoga was wiped clean years ago by the Forest Service. There is very little trace of the people that used to live in this small town. I was able to spot this old metal high chair in the woods.
