29 June 2013 Westline
We really enjoy the trail at Westline. It has a nice stream beside it, plenty of trees, and some interesting wildflowers. There was a series of shutterspotting caches placed along the trail. I've been unsuccessful with shutterspot caches before and was leery of these, but a visit to a nice trail is good no matter how many finds are there. There was no need to worry about the quality of these caches. The shutterspotting was perfect and more than a few hides were really well done.
It was a torrential downpour by the time we reached Kane so we played in town for a bit and grabbed a commercial hide. Before heading to Westline we stopped and grabbed a couple of hides placed by our friends Pegasis. We both remembered the area fron caching there after a Kane event a number of years ago.
It was grey with some occasional rain when we hit the trail at Westline. When we left hours later, there was blue sky and perfect weather. With a number of puzzle caches found and Gwen distracted for another day, it was a good day.
Grey beginning

Some of these hides were outstanding. The matchstick container slid into the curled tree bark above eye level was one of the best I've seen this year.
Blue skies settle in
Closing out the day
